Authorities in Punjab are investigating a recent blast that occurred near the army cantonment boundary wall in Khasa, Amritsar. Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav characterized the event as a low-intensity explosion. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday night, resulted in no reported injuries. Law enforcement agencies are diligently working to ascertain the precise nature of the explosion and the device employed, pending a thorough forensic examination, according to reports.

While no group has officially claimed responsibility for the explosion, suspicions have been raised regarding the potential involvement of Pakistan‘s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). (Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said, “We assume that, as today is the Operation Sindoor anniversary, this is part of Pakistan’s ISI designs to cause disruptions in Punjab.”) He further stated that Punjab is actively engaged in a proxy war against Pakistan on behalf of the nation. As per information available with TahirRihat.com, security concerns are being addressed with heightened vigilance in light of these recent events.

The incident in Amritsar is one of two explosions that occurred in Punjab on Tuesday night, causing public concern and condemnation from opposition parties. The opposition has described the blasts as attempts to destabilize the state. The first explosion took place at approximately 8 pm in Jalandhar, outside the headquarters of the Border Security Force’s Punjab Frontier. The second explosion occurred at around 11 pm in Amritsar. Investigations into both incidents are currently underway.

Following a meeting with army officials and senior officers from the Punjab Police, DGP Yadav briefed reporters on the discussions held. He conveyed that security concerns were thoroughly reviewed, and appropriate directives were issued to address potential threats and ensure public safety. He also mentioned that a separate meeting was conducted with senior police officers from the Amritsar police commissionerate to coordinate investigative efforts and enhance local security measures.

Senior officers from the Punjab Police, including the Amritsar Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural), promptly visited the site of the explosion to assess the situation and gather initial evidence. The bomb disposal squads from both the Punjab Police and the Border Security Force (BSF), along with forensic experts, conducted a thorough sanitization of the area. They are diligently collecting samples for scientific analysis to determine the composition of the explosive device and gather crucial information about the incident.

(Amritsar (Rural) Senior Superintendent of Police Suhail Mir Qasim stated that police received reports of a loud sound at around 11 pm on a road in Khasa, Amritsar.) He added that police teams were immediately dispatched to the scene to assess the situation and initiate an investigation. Preliminary inspections suggest that an explosive device was thrown towards the boundary wall, resulting in the explosion, according to the SSP. Police reported that a piece of a tin sheet covering the boundary wall was dislodged due to the force of the blast.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been officially registered under relevant legal sections, and investigations are proceeding in close collaboration with the army and other relevant agencies, police confirmed. (DGP Yadav asserted that multiple teams are working on this utilising human intelligence, technical resources, and forensic inputs to ensure investigations are conducted in a scientific manner.) He added that the perpetrators will be apprehended and brought to justice.

Law enforcement agencies are currently utilizing human intelligence gathering, technical resources, and forensic analysis to conduct comprehensive investigations into the incidents. These measures are designed to ensure a scientific and thorough approach to identifying the individuals responsible and uncovering the circumstances surrounding the explosions. The coordinated efforts of multiple teams underscore the commitment to maintaining security and stability in the region.
