Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has emphasized that sustained peace is an essential foundation for progress and development in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing a gathering on Wednesday, Sinha credited the Jammu and Kashmir Police for fostering a secure environment, which has enabled significant advancements in the Union Territory over the last six years.

The Lieutenant Governor urged for increased efficiency and enhanced professionalism within the police force. He asserted that terrorism relies on sources of funding, extensive networks, and various support systems, all of which must be identified and systematically dismantled. As per information available with TahirRihat.com, establishing enduring peace is paramount to realizing developmental aspirations in any region.

Sinha highlighted the progress achieved in Jammu and Kashmir over the past six years, attributing it to the combined efforts of previous administrations and the public. He specifically acknowledged the crucial role played by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in upholding peace and creating conditions conducive to overall development. The police force, he noted, has demonstrated a commitment to selfless service, collective welfare, and proactive public engagement, despite operating in a complex and challenging security landscape.

The Lieutenant Governor cautioned that security threats have undergone significant transformations, with terrorism now exhibiting new and increasingly intricate forms. This evolution demands constant vigilance and heightened alertness from security forces. (Sinha stated, “Today, terrorists no longer come only with visible weapons, nor do they always appear in forms that can be easily identified.”) He stressed the necessity for continuous vigilance and caution among police personnel to safeguard national security.

According to Sinha, officers within the Jammu and Kashmir Police have distinguished themselves through acts of courage, unwavering commitment, and exceptional teamwork, thereby earning a respected position in the history of both the Union Territory and the nation. (Sinha said, “Whenever you wear the uniform of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, remember that you are carrying forward a glorious legacy and contributing to a continuing tradition of service and protection.”) He also underscored the critical importance of seamless inter-agency coordination, the timely exchange of information, and concerted collective action in effectively addressing contemporary security challenges.

Advocating for the strict enforcement of the law, Sinha stressed the imperative of eradicating criminal activities, including unlawful encroachments on public lands, to effect transformative change within society. He further highlighted the indispensable role of the police in fostering community engagement, promoting youth development, and providing civic education, underscoring how the force has successfully channeled the energies of young people toward constructive activities.

Paying homage to the police personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, Sinha expressed profound respect for their families, affirming that their bravery continues to serve as an enduring source of inspiration for the entire force. He confirmed that appointment orders had been issued to 100 constables across various divisions of the police department.

The Lieutenant Governor additionally mentioned that approximately 3,158 candidates have been appointed through the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s new recruitment initiative in Srinagar, with details of 3,140 appointments readily accessible. He emphasized that the recruitment process was executed with utmost transparency and solely on the basis of merit, ensuring fairness and equity throughout.

Sinha reiterated that discipline, teamwork, and professionalism remain central to effective policing and urged the force to maintain the highest levels of courage and unwavering dedication to duty. He addressed these remarks while distributing appointment letters to the 100 newly recruited constables, marking a significant step in bolstering the ranks of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
