Hyderabad is witnessing a legal storm surrounding the son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who has been remanded to judicial custody following his arrest in a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Bageerath, Kumar’s son, was apprehended after the Telangana High Court declined to grant him interim protection from arrest in connection with the allegations.

The arrest follows a complaint lodged by the mother of a 17-year-old girl, accusing Bageerath of sexually harassing her daughter, with whom he allegedly had a relationship. The case, initially registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, was later intensified with charges under the POCSO Act after the girl’s statement was recorded. In a parallel development, Bageerath had also filed a complaint alleging that the girl invited him to family functions and group gatherings after they became acquainted, leading to a separate FIR, reported Daily Excelsior.

Information reaching TahirRihat.com suggests that Union Minister Sanjay Kumar has expressed unwavering faith in the judicial process, asserting that the truth will eventually come to light. Kumar has appealed for understanding, emphasizing that this is a personal family matter and that they will contest the allegations legally, maintaining complete trust in the judiciary and the justice system.

Following his son’s arrest on Saturday night, the Union Minister took to ‘X’ to reassure supporters, stating, “I want to reassure every well-wisher, supporter and karyakarta that there has been no wrongdoing from our side. We have complete faith in the legal process and truth will ultimately prevail.” He acknowledged the emotional distress the situation has caused his family over the past week, marked by pain, anxiety, helplessness, and deep emotional strain (Daily Excelsior reported).

The Union Minister further disclosed that the situation deeply impacted his entire family, revealing that his mother suffered a heart stroke during this challenging period. Despite these hardships, Kumar expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love and support extended by countless individuals across the country, which he said has given him the strength to remain steadfast. He extended his thanks to every BJP worker, leader, supporter, friend, member of the media, and social media users who have stood by his family, offering prayers and emotional support. He particularly acknowledged those who, despite immense pressure, chose to stand with truth, underscoring his eternal gratitude for their support (According to Daily Excelsior).

Kumar also urged all BJP cadre and supporters to remain focused and continue strengthening the party in Telangana, emphasizing the importance of continuing their hard work for the party and its ideology. He conveyed his resolve to face this difficult phase with courage, patience, and faith, reaffirming his belief that justice, though potentially delayed, will ultimately prevail. The case against Bageerath was registered on May 8, based on the complaint filed by the girl’s mother (Daily Excelsior reported).

The unfolding legal proceedings and the Union Minister’s response highlight the complexities and sensitivities surrounding cases involving the POCSO Act, especially when they involve family members of prominent political figures. The coming days will likely see further legal arguments and developments as the case progresses through the judicial system.
