Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated a month-long public outreach and service initiative, the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan,’ across Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The campaign commenced on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, with Sinha celebrating the day with children at the ‘Palaash’ and ‘Pareesha’ children’s homes in Srinagar. During his visit to the children’s homes, the Lieutenant Governor distributed school bags, sports kits, and sweets, while also reviewing the available facilities. He subsequently visited the Children’s Hospital in Bemina, where he engaged with young patients and extended wishes for their swift recovery.
The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan,’ as detailed by a government spokesperson, is scheduled to run from Thursday until October 17, commemorating 25 years of Prime Minister Modi’s public service. Addressing attendees at the launch event, Lieutenant Governor Sinha emphasized the establishment of special camps at both block and ward levels. These camps are intended to streamline and facilitate the registration process for eligible beneficiaries seeking access to various government welfare schemes.
