J&K Government Invests in Training for Junior Secretariat Assistants

The Jammu and Kashmir Government is prioritizing the professional development of its workforce with a comprehensive training initiative designed for Junior Secretariat Assistants. Thirty-seven individuals from the J&K Secretariat (Subordinate) Service have been selected to participate in the J&K Secretariat Assistants Training Course at the Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPARD). This program aims to enhance their skills and knowledge, preparing them for greater responsibilities within the government.

As per information available with TahirRihat.com, the training program is scheduled to run for two months, commencing on May 11 and concluding on July 9, 2026. This intensive course reflects the government’s commitment to investing in its employees and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the civil service. The curriculum is designed to equip the assistants with the necessary tools and expertise to excel in their roles and contribute effectively to the administration of the region.

According to Government Order No. 874-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated May 7, the selected officials will continue to receive their salaries from their respective departments and offices, provided they submit attendance certificates from IMPARD. This provision ensures that the assistants are financially supported throughout the duration of the training, removing any potential barriers to their participation. The General Administration Department order further stipulates that the deputed officials will be relieved from their current duties starting May 11, 2026 (F.N.), and are expected to report to the designated IMPARD campuses by 10:00 AM on the same day.

The participants represent a diverse range of government departments, reflecting the comprehensive scope of this training initiative. Among the departments represented are the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, the General Administration Department, and the J&K Services Selection Board. Junior Secretariat Assistants from the Public Grievances Department, the Health and Medical Education Department, and the Youth Services and Sports Department will also be participating. Furthermore, individuals from various other government offices across Jammu and Kashmir have been selected, highlighting the widespread impact of this professional development program. This initiative emphasizes the government’s focus on improving efficiency and effectiveness across all sectors of public service.

The IMPARD training course signifies a strategic investment by the Jammu and Kashmir Government in its administrative infrastructure. By providing specialized training to Junior Secretariat Assistants, the government aims to enhance their capabilities and improve overall governance. This program is expected to contribute to a more skilled and efficient workforce, ultimately benefiting the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir. The emphasis on practical skills and knowledge transfer underscores the government’s commitment to building a strong and responsive public service.
