Kathua Set for Major Infrastructure Boost with Express Corridor and Gas Pipeline

Kathua district is poised for a significant transformation with the upcoming integration into the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Express Corridor, a development expected to dramatically enhance regional connectivity and stimulate economic activity. This announcement was made by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh during his ongoing outreach program across his parliamentary constituency, coinciding with the 12th anniversary of the BJP-led Central Government.

As per information available with TahirRihat.com, the minister also revealed that a gas pipeline project for the district is in the advanced stages of planning and is anticipated to be implemented shortly. This initiative aims to provide residents and industries with access to cleaner and more efficient energy sources, marking a crucial step towards modernizing the region’s energy infrastructure.

Addressing a public gathering in the Jasrota Assembly constituency, Dr. Singh further elaborated on the progress of key developmental projects. He informed the attendees that the tender process for North India‘s first Homoeopathy College, slated for establishment in Kathua, has already commenced, with the foundation stone ceremony expected in the near future. This institution is set to bolster the healthcare and educational landscape of the region, offering specialized medical education and services.

In another significant development highlighted by the minister, the land transfer process for the proposed Arun Jaitley Stadium in Hiranagar is currently underway. This stadium is envisioned to be a state-of-the-art facility, designed to nurture aspiring athletes and cultivate a robust sports culture within the district. The provision of modern sporting amenities is expected to significantly benefit the youth and promote athletic talent.

Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized a broader national shift towards transparent, accountable, and development-centric governance, a principle he stated has been consistently applied across the country. He underscored the government’s commitment to inclusive development, ensuring that welfare schemes and developmental benefits reach every citizen, irrespective of their background, faith, or geographical location. This approach, he suggested, is fostering a sense of equitable progress.

Reflecting on the evolution of Kathua over the past decade, Dr. Singh painted a picture of its transformation from a historically overlooked border town into a burgeoning hub for industrial growth, advanced healthcare, quality education, innovation, and enhanced connectivity within Jammu and Kashmir. This narrative of progress, he noted, is a testament to focused developmental efforts.

The minister also touched upon the improvements in healthcare infrastructure, specifically mentioning the Government Medical College. He stated that this institution has substantially elevated the standard of medical services available in Kathua, improving access to quality healthcare and reducing the necessity for patients to seek advanced treatments in distant locations. This enhancement is crucial for the well-being of the local populace.

Furthermore, Dr. Singh highlighted the strategic importance of the Ujh Multipurpose Project and the aforementioned Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway. These large-scale infrastructure undertakings are projected to revolutionize connectivity, significantly improve irrigation facilities for agriculture, and drive substantial economic growth across the region. The synergistic impact of these projects is expected to redefine the developmental trajectory of Kathua and its surrounding areas, fostering a more prosperous and well-connected future.
