Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated the fifth edition of the J&K Open 2026 DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) on Tuesday, marking a significant return of a major professional golf tournament to Kashmir after a considerable hiatus. The event, held at the scenic Royal Springs Golf Course in Srinagar, also saw the unveiling of the championship trophy. This initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to revitalizing Jammu and Kashmir as a premier destination for golf tourism.
Following a ceremonial tee-off, Chief Minister Abdullah emphasized the integral role of golf tourism within the government’s broader strategy for promoting tourism across Jammu and Kashmir.
