The addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between J&K Police and J&K Bank was formally signed during a ceremony attended by high-ranking officials from both entities. Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat and Managing Director and CEO of J&K Bank, Amitava Chatterjee, were the primary signatories, marking a pivotal moment in the ongoing partnership between the police force and the financial institution. DGP Nalin Prabhat emphasized the solemn responsibility the department holds towards the families of the 1,620 personnel who have lost their lives in the past three decades while serving the region. The recent enhancements to the MoU reflect this sentiment through increased insurance coverage, compensation packages, and structural support mechanisms. The Director General of Police (DGP) further emphasized the significant sacrifices made by the brave officers and personnel of the J&K Police force in achieving the current levels of peace and stability in the region. Amitava Chatterjee, MD and CEO of J&K Bank, highlighted the enduring relationship between the bank and the J&K Police force, stressing that the addendum to the MoU demonstrates their ongoing dedication to the welfare and financial security of police personnel, SPOs, and their families. Chatterjee acknowledged the critical role that the police play in maintaining stability and security and affirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting them.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Manish K Sinha remarked on the transformative role played by J&K Bank in the financial landscape of the region, akin to the crucial functions performed by the J&K Police. The enhanced welfare framework for the police personnel and their families was presented in detail by General Manager Rakesh Magotra. The ceremony was attended by senior officers from both the J&K Police and J&K Bank, including SJM Gillani, SDGP Coordination, and Ashutosh Sareen, CGM J&K Bank.
