Adding to the security concerns, some Kendriya Vidyalayas in Jammu received an emailed bomb threat for August 5. These operations were initiated following reports of movement by two suspected groups within the forest cover. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Poonch, Shafqat Hussain, presided over a comprehensive security review meeting. During this meeting, the prevailing security situation across the district was meticulously assessed, and directives were issued concerning area domination strategies, anti-sabotage measures, increased patrolling frequencies, enhanced surveillance of vulnerable locations, and the strengthening of border security and intelligence gathering mechanisms.
