The Health and Medical Education Department in Jammu and Kashmir has initiated a significant reshuffle within the health sector, transferring and posting 22 doctors across various districts and health institutions throughout the Union Territory. Government Order No. 411-JK(HME) of 2026, dated May 12, formalizes these changes, which affect numerous medical professionals holding key positions in different districts. Dr. Sanjay Arora now serves as the I/C State Malariologist, while Dr. Rashmi Sharma is the I/C Epidemiologist. Furthermore, Dr. Sunil Kailu and Dr. Bashir Ahmad Malik have been appointed as the I/C Assistant Directors for Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization in the Jammu and Kashmir divisions, respectively. These assignments aim to bolster the effectiveness of public health programs and services throughout the region.

Additional changes include Dr. Vinod Sharma’s posting as the I/C CMO Doda, and Dr. Sanjay Kumar Bhat assuming responsibilities as the I/C CMO Kishtwar. Dr. Bhajan Kour has been transferred to Bandipora as I/C CMO, while Dr. Monika Kotwal takes on the role of I/C Medical Superintendent at Government Hospital Sarwal Jammu. The order also outlines the appointments of several doctors as Medical Superintendents and Block Medical Officers in various districts.
